April Meeting Recap

National Archives-around the corner from DCMQG meeting

(Its Katie. I wrote a post for my blog and realized it would be good to post here, too!)

The DC Modern Quilt Guild met this morning at Teaism, which is a great substitute for the coffee shop we used to meet at occasionally. (And around the corner from the National Archives, hence the instagram photo). If you are local, or even somewhat local, I encourage you to check out the flickr group and plan to meet up with us at some point (soon). We have a monthly schedule pretty well mapped out for the rest of 2012--we meet on the 3rd Saturday of each month (today was an exception).

Today, we enjoyed beverages and breakfast, met Natalie's adorable son, were glad to meet a new member, Beth, did some show and tell, talked about whether we wanted by-laws, elections, etc. or if we wanted to remain a rather low-key group as we have in the past, (I'm not sure we came to a decision on that one), and brainstormed about things we want to do in the future.

Today, people suggested attending/planning non-Saturday-informal events-gatherings- field trips-get togethers in addition to our monthly sewing/show and share meetings. I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with.

IF YOU HAVE AN OUTING, FIELD TRIP, LECTURE, etc. that you would like to see happen (and plan!) please send an email to dcmodquilts at gmail dot com.  You plan, we publicize! Or leave a comment in the post and we will add your idea to our new activities page.
