Flickr Friday, Sewing Saturday & Bloggers Quilt Festival

Amy's Creative Side
Twitter, Instagram, etc. are a abuzz with news and pictures from International Quilt Market, happening right now (and through the weekend) in Kansas City.  Because I'm guessing that like me, most of us aren't at Quilt Market and wish we were, I wanted to remind everyone of the Blogger's Quilt Festival hosted by Amy Ellis at Amy's Creative Side. Click on the button for all the info, and consider "entering" a quilt :) And then leave a comment here so we can check out your quilt in the link up party.

Sewing Saturday!!!
A quick reminder that this Saturday is a Sewing Day at Capital Quilts. We hope to see you, especially those of you in Maryland, there! The ladies at Capital Quilts are really great hosts, I think you will enjoy it. Bring a project to sew, and I heard a rumor that we get to use the Accu Cut machine like last time :)

When: Saturday, May 19, 1:30-4:30 (come early if you want to shop!)

Where: Capital Quilts, 15936 Luanne Drive, Gaithersburg, MD
What: Sewing Day

And finally, some Flickr Friday Work in Progress (a little bit early) pictures from the Flickr Group

Granny square in progress.
Amy is working on a Granny Squares quilt in Hope Valley. Its going to be lovely, I'm sure! (Did you hear Denyse Schmidt is speaking at the Philly MQG in June?)

And Frederick is working on the EPP Rose beauty. Wow.

  1. I'm sorry, but I won't be able to join in this month. Hope everyone has fun!

  2. I am so bummed out that I can't go. Our car battery died yesterday and it seems to be related to a wiring problem so it needs to go to the shop next week. I'll think you of all while I am sewing (alone!) in Glover Park.

    1. sewing alone is better than no sewing at all. next time!

  3. Thanks for all useful and so yummy information. Can't make this Saturday but hope to see many of you again in next month's meeting before my due date :)

  4. Due date? How did I miss this??? I hope we see you before then, too. It looks like you have been having fun at craft fairs!!! hope they have been successful :)

  5. Sorry I can't come all the way out to Gaithersburg to share the afternoon with DC Modern. I am working on the hand sewn EPP Rose Star project every night and making progress. This past couple weeks have been focused on Artomatic 2012 in Crystal City which opened last night!
Maybe I have my fingers in too many pies; now I want to try and post a quilt in the Blogger's quilt Festival. Thanks for sharing the news! Have fun at the sewing meeting.

    1. I didn't know there was an artomatic in Crystal City. Awesome. Your quilt is coming along beautifully. Thanks for sharing progress.
