Sewing Day this Saturday

Just a reminder that we are confirmed for Westover Library in Arlington from 10-4 this Saturday.  It's an awesome space with tons of tables and outlets at each seat.  Please remember irons, ironing boards, cutting mats, etc...

The library is directly across from a few restaurants; I am partial to Lost Dog Cafe (the Phoenix is so good.  Everything there is so good).  Feel free to bring food or drink, but also know that you can easily walk across the street for yummy food.

I am not sure that Katie or I are going to make it this weekend--is there anyone who can commit to being the person "in charge"?--ie, telling the library people that we are there and then telling them when we leave.  It's not complicated.  I'll know by Friday what my deal is, so it would be good to have a definite person.  Just comment on this post.

Happy sewing!

  1. No comments?? I will try to be there right at 10:00, and if I'm the first one there, I'll check us in, start setting up, etc. But if someone else gets there first, please feel free!!

  2. I'm going to be there, but I've never even been to a meeting, so I'm not sure I'm ready to be "in charge". ;) I am looking forward to meeting folks.

  4. Thanks, everyone! My parents are in town (Katie) and my son is sick and my husband is spending the day at a local HS graduation. I'm sad. I'll miss you guys.

  6. Hi! I've been itching to meet up and sew with local modern quilters. Alas, I cannot make it this month. I hope to be there next month.

  7. Great to see everyone who came on Saturday. This is the place I mentioned in Adams Morgan ---
http://www.bitsofthread.com -- Like I said, I haven't been there yet, but it looks like a great place to take classes, especially if you want to learn more about sewing clothing. They have very limited selection of quilting classes (maybe they need a quilting teacher??) And they also have "open studio" days, which could be interesting.
