Friday Flickr Favorites

How's this for a beautiful finish?

This quilt is by Susan, whom I do not think I have had the pleasure of meeting.  I sure hope you (and this quilt!) can make it to a meeting soon!

I love how the pale grey sets off all the saturated colors and just makes them glow.  And I bet it's so soft and drapey with all those voiles and a vintage sheet for the back.  I want it!  Thanks for adding the photo to our flickr pool, so we can all drool over it together!

Please comment and tell us a bit more about the quilt, Susan!   What did you use for the sashing?  And who is the lucky one who gets to cuddle with this?

Enjoy your weekend, everyone!

  1. Hee hee hee, who's the one who gets to cuddle with it? Believe it or not mostly it's the stray dog who came to us on Dec. 8! She seems to be a daschund/beagle mix and made herself immediately at home on the small couch in my sewing room.

The sashing is Essex linen in natural which is still a teeny bit stiff because it hasn't been washed yet, but once it is it'll soften up considerably. I decided not to wash it because I wanted it to have a bit more structure while piecing it since those AMH voiles can be slippery.

Thanks for the kind words, Jessie! I look forward to seeing folks in 2013 as well!

  2. I LOVE this quilt, Susan! Look forward to seeing you again soon.
