Fun opportunities

The Baltimore MQG is hosting Malka Dubrowsky (!) for a hands-on fabric dying workshop.  They have two spots left and have opened them up to us!

The details:

Saturday, July 13th from 10-4
The Painting Workshop,
1605 Sulgrave Avenue Baltimore, Maryland 21209

The cost is $85 for non-members/$75 for members of the BMQG, which includes all supplies except for your fabric.

Only two spots left, so the first two people to contact Heather will get in!  After that she's keeping a waiting list.

I admit I stalk the Baltimore MQG site and so I signed up for this the minute it was announced!  Can't wait!

There is also a local quilt show this weekend:

Quilters Unlimited

Dulles Expo and Conference Center
4320 Chantilly Shopping Center
Chantilly, VA 20153

Show Hours Admission
Friday 10am - 6 pm                3-Day Pass - $15
               Saturday 10am - 5 pm               1-Day Pass - $10
Sunday 10 am - 4 pm

I'll be at the show for a bit on Sunday morning, maybe I'll see you there?

  1. Malka will return to the DC area to do a similar workshop & lecture for the Friendship Star Quilt Guild (Gaithersburg, MD) in the fall (They don't meet during the summer.) & The Faithful Circle Quilt Guild (Columbia, MD) is hosting her in July - in conjunction with the BMQG, so there may be more options/opportunities if you dig a bit deeper.

I hope to go to her lecture in the fall at the Faithful Circle guild meeting.

I tried to go to the NOVA show this morning - traffic had other ideas...
