RSVP now for this Saturday's sewing day!

Hi Everyone!

This Saturday, June 22, Nicole has graciously offered to host a sewing day at Finch Sewing Studio, her very exciting new home business!  She is offering her garment-sewing expertise to anyone who would like a little guidance or advice on a project- and if you don't have a garment project currently, Nicole has a lovely hand-picked selection of fabrics and patterns available for sale at the studio.  You are also quite welcome to bring a quilt project of your own and join in the camaraderie.

The event will be held
Saturday, June 22nd, from 10-5
318 Fox Ridge Dr, SW
Leesburg, VA 21075

Please RSVP by emailing Nicole directly, so that she may plan the day and the workspace.  In your email please let Nicole know what kind of project you will be working on- sewing machine or hand work, your own project or something you'd like Nicole to troubleshoot with you.

*Amy has offered to pick up 3-4 metro riders at Shady Grove or some other mutually convenient place and commute together.  Contact her if you would like a ride!

Here's a note from Nicole:

I'm so excited to have all of you visit Finch Sewing Studio!  I can't wait to share my little space with you, and I"m equally thrilled to show off my town of historic Leesburg.  During the meeting, I will give an optional apparel tutorial.  Here's what I'll cover: How to select a size + pattern, Fitting 101, Tools that help, Garment 911 (What don't you like about the garment you've made?  Where are you stuck?)  Bring your project, and we'll trouble-shoot your issues!

For those of you who may want to come with children and hubby in tow: just down the street from us, there is a farm called Great Country Farms that has tons to do for kids.  It would be a great option for those who want to come, but might need a little something to sweeten the pot for the hubs!  :) There are animals to feed, 2 large bounce pillows, hay rides, a huge play area with slides, playgrounds, etc.

What to bring for your own sewing pleasure?  I have 3 machines available for use.  If a few of you want to come sans machine, you are welcome to use mine.  I also have 5 tool kits complete with marking tools, rotary blade, scissors, pins, etc.  I have 3 cutting stations, and 3 ironing stations (only 2 irons though).  We have a deck off the back of the studio with an umbrella, tables, a couch, and overstuffed chairs.  It would be a great place to break for lunch or do handwork.  I'll have water, treats from Mom's Apple Pie (a delightful little bakery here), and champagne punch.

Anyone who is interested in a wine tasting after sewing is welcome to try Dry Mill Winery.  It is up the street from the studio, and while it does close at 6pm, we could easily have almost an hour to do a wine tasting.  You can bring food there, or buy food from their small cooler (cheese, bread, etc).  Fun Times!!

Can't wait to see you all!!
