Share your quilts with DC Modern!

Hi everyone! We're really excited to tell you about a new blog feature we're developing called "Inside the Quilter's Studio". This feature will give our members the opportunity to share their quilts and the stories behind them in more depth than during our meetings. Or, for those of us who tend to give away all our quilts, it will be a chance to share them with the group for the first time.

We're currently looking for content for this series, so we hope you'll consider submitting either a new post, or one you've previously posted on your own blog. You certainly don't need to have a blog to participate, and this could be your first toe in the big blogging ocean! Here are some ideas for content of your post to get you started:

  • What was your inspiration for the quilt? A picture/color scheme/personality/season?
  • What was your process for determining the quilt layout? fabric choices?
  • Describe any set-backs, changes in plans, new skills, etc. that were part of the process of making the quilt.
  • How do you feel about the quilt now? It could be your FAVORITE quilt ever, or maybe not. We don't always love everything we make and sometimes those quilts have the best stories.

We will start this series in October and will post the first and third Wednesday of each month. If you are interested in having your quilt featured, please contact Heather at dcmqgtreasurer@gmail.com. Please send along the post if already written. If it's not written, please send at least the outline and some photos you would use in the post.

We're excited to see what you come up with!
