October Meeting Recap

First of all, a BIG thank you to Katie for her interesting and informative presentation today!
It's so exciting to have such great talent here within our little group!  Katie was open and engaging, and managed to make the presentation such that it was interesting to everyone, not only those who were actively considering publishing their work.  Thank you!!

Little plug: Katie will have copies of her book for sale, signed by all 3 co-authors, as soon as they are available- probably at the January meeting.  And we'll be sure to announce her other promotional events as they come nearer.  Congratulations, Katie!!

We enjoyed getting to to know two new attendees today- thanks for coming, Kathy and Rosemary!

I neglected to get a pic of the Raffle blocks all together, but Linda was the lucky winner of the stack.

Here's our show and tell of the day:
Heather made this as a wedding gift.
Frederick's Burgundy and Blue Improv
Frederick's Dresden Plates
Frederick had so much fun making wonky stars for the raffle that he made a bunch more for himself!
Anjeanette's sweet new Riley Blake project
Anjeanette's Autumn Leaves
Aubrie's stocking in progress
Linda and her daughter put this real leather waistband on her daughter's skirt!
Kathy worked at hand stitching down these lovely figs and leaves
Kathy also brought these lovelies, which featured more beautiful hand stitching
Lynne's Tula Pink EPP, inspired by a project from Cathy
Rosemary worked on hand quilting this- the cupcake blocks were all gifts delivered from quilty friends while Rosemary was ill.
Rosemary made this bag from her son's old Boy Scout shirt!  Love!
Melinda's Dresden Plate wall hanging, stolen off her wall this morning
Melinda's string quilt, made partially from bee blocks
Anna H, Don't know where my head was but I didn't get a pic of your beautiful Staple Dress!  I checked all your feeds for pics but found none there, so post a pic as soon as you can, OK?  <3

Next meeting in only two weeks at Capital Quilts (Nov 2!)  See you there!
