This is Jamie's Michael Miller Challenge quilt. She calls it Churn Dash Cosmonaut and it is quite impressive. There is so much going on that it really requires some of the detail shots that she has on her blog to fully appreciate it. The coolest thing is the fact that she used the selvages on the front of the quilt and free motion quilted different designs in different sections: lines in the rectangles, pebbles in the triangles, and stipples in the prints.

Can't wait to see some of you tomorrow out in Leesburg.

I leave you with this video of Obama visiting a quilt shop in Parkville, Missouri and asking if they could teach him to sew.

  1. I'll raise my hand to volunteer to teach POTUS how to sew a quilt.

  2. Jaime, I really hope that I get to see this quilt in person. It is brilliant and amazing.

  3. I want to see this in person hope Jamie will bring it to a meeting soon.

  4. Maybe the POTUS should come to a DCMQG meeting. We could definitely get him started.
