Show & Tell from July's Meeting at Finch Sewing Studio

As some of our guild members head up to Harper's Ferry today and are getting set up for a great DCMQG Summer Retreat this weekend, I just wanted to post some quick pictures from a few Saturdays ago out at Finch.  It was a cozy group that gathered and spread out in Nicole's newly expanded, adorable shop in historic Leesburg.  Fun was had and all were pampered with donuts, mimosas, and, most of all, gorgeous fabrics, yarns, and good company!

Here's a look at some of the projects people are working on:

Clockwise from top left: Jessie's extra special Batman baby quilt for a friend; Maryjane's grunge quilt blocks, Carla's baby quilt for a friend, Lea with the quilt for baby Rose that the guild gifted and Heather quilted.

Clockwise from top left:  Diana and her colorful sampler quilt, Nicole and her Alabama Chanin skirt, Brandi and her tote for a friend moving overseas, new member Sari and her freshly finished hexagonal butterfly quilt.

Clockwise from top left:  Dara and her neighborhoods quilt, Jane and her AMH infinity scarf, Aubrie and her baby quilt with a family story behind it, prospective member Bonnie and her I-spy hexie quilt.

Clockwise from top left:  Linda and the gorgeous back-to-work/nursing dress she made for her daughter, Fredrick and his fabric-printing samples, Bonnie with a mixed vintage + new blocks quilt, Nicole with her finished sparkle quilt.
We'll report on the retreat after this weekend!  The next retreat is in November and if you are still interested in joining, I believe there are still a few spots left.  Our next meeting is on August 29th at Patches quilt shop in Mt. Airy so bring your sewing and join us if you can!  September 10th is the Lizzy House lecture (see Melinda's previous post for more details).  September is our charity sewing day (on 9/26 in Falls Church) so start thinking about what projects you may want to bring or contribute to!  And lastly, if you were a member in the last year and still intend to re-up your membership, please pay your dues soon so as to avoid being removed from our official guild roster at the end of this month (dues button in the sidebar).  We hope you'll join us for another year of fun programing!
