Thanks to everyone who was able to come out to our first meeting of the year at Falls Church Episcopal. We had a great turn out last Saturday with lots of good sewing and chatting.
Some of the business points that were shared are below, followed by some pictures of our show and tells.
* Thank you to the past board for all their hard work!
* Thank you to Melinda who is still helping the group out as Retreat Committee Chair. Retreat sign up was sent out on Monday afternoon so, if you haven't already signed up, consider this:
- $175 for full weekend, meals included
- it's like an adult version of a summer camp condensed into a weekend!
*Thank you to Nisha for volunteering to be our swap coordinator this year. Ottawa swap has already gotten a head start by Robin (treasurer). Coming in May we can look forward to a tote bag swap.
*Thank you to Alyson who has volunteered to take on as Charity coordinator. Fabric bundles will be ready for distribution next month. We are hoping to spread out our charity sewing throughout the year in order to have more finished quilts in the fall!
*Thank you to Ashley and Liz who have volunteered to take on as program coordinators. They will be planning our speakers/ workshops/ lectures for 2017. If you have any helpful input feel free to let these ladies know.
*Thank you to Anna G. who has planned an awesome QAL (quilt along) for our group. Every month you will learn a new block and technique :) It will be posted on Anna's blog but a link to all QAL's posts will be made available from DCMQG.
