January Meeting Recap

Last weekend's meeting was SO MUCH FUN!

Linda and Anne did a splendid job of leading our caddy sew-along.  Hopefully everyone will be toting their sewing supplies in style by the next meeting!

We had 12 people making caddies and many others came and worked on their own projects.  I didn't count but it must have been 20-25 people.  We definitely maxed out the space at the Westover Library!

There was much show-and-tell:
Melinda's finished hexagon piece, photo by Wendy

Natalie's bee quilt, made from Ikea sheets! photo by Frederick
Anna's project

Many oohhhs and ahhhs over Anne's completed baby quilt, photo by Frederick

Anne also finished the two matching baby quilts she was making last time
Linda used her Comma fabrics (won at the last meeting!) for this awesome top
Lynne's striking top
Katie's improv log cabins
Frederick and his shoofly quilt, made partly from recycled clothing

Jennifer's Field Study quilt, which she was working on at the meeting
Carolyn finished a colorful charity quilt
Amy's quilt- I don't know the name of this pattern but I find it so soothing!  Pretty!
Amy's other quilt, made from Kaffe Fassett fabrics
Anna's fractured solids top.  Can't wait to see that one finished!
We admired Aubrie's amazing quilting on the charity quilt

And we had a volunteer for Treasurer!  Thanks Cathy!
Thanks to everyone who came to the meeting and made it such a blast!

Mark your calendars for our next meeting: Saturday, February 16th from 2:30-5:30 at Capital Quilts (15926 Luanne Drive  Gaithersburg, MD 20877)
We'll show our finished sewing caddies from this month, have our big reveal of our Madrona Road Challenge projects, and free sewing time. Hope you can make it!
