Meeting this Saturday, Nov. 2nd!

Hi There!

Just a note to remind all of our upcoming meeting this Saturday, November 2nd at Capital Quilts from 1:30-4:30. This meeting will kick off with a tutorial from Melinda (QuirkyGranolaGirl.)  She'll be walking us through her process of drafting a machine-paper-pieced block from a picture!

Afterwards, we're still soliciting input for next year's programming, and we'll have show and tell and free sewing/shopping time.  I also have Riley Blake Challenge fabric for many of you who couldn't make it to the last meeting.

Last time we were at Capital Quilts it worked well to sign up for sewing machine spots- and everyone who requested one was able to get one, so I'd like to ask that we do that again:
If you would like to bring your sewing machine to this meeting, please email me and request a spot!

Also:  Anna G is in need of red scraps and was wondering if someone might have some to donate/trade.  See her thread here on Flickr.  Thanks!

Capital Quilts has ironing stations for our use but not cutting stations or snacks, so please consider bringing these things to share!

See you there!

  1. Sorry I will miss the meeting (again) esp. when it's so close to me! I'm sure you'll all understand that my going to Houston Quilt Festival this weekend must take precedence LOL. Have a great meeting all!

  2. Didn't I just see you people? :) I hope to make it out there. Won't be doing any sewing, just chatting, disrupting, watching Melinda in awe and enjoying what everyone brings for show and tell!

  3. I have my fingers crossed that I can be there Saturday. I might be presenting a Quilt of Valor Saturday afternoon, so at least I have a good excuse. If that doesn't work out I'll be there. I'll bring handwork, so I won't need sewing machine space.
