July Meeting Recap

In July we met in the Hyattsville Municipal Building in a large open space with yellow walls and plenty of light.  Carissa & Ashley introduced the plans for our QuiltCon charity quilt and we went on an expedition to Three Little Birds Sewing Co., just across the street and down a block from the Municipal building.

The DCMQG visits Three Little Birds Sewing Co.
We had some pretty great show and tell too:
Mindy shared her beautiful Eads quilt.

Amy brought this scrappy rainbow beauty.

Meg shared a work in progress from a class she took with Sherri Lynn Wood.

Elle shared two quilts that she recently finished quilting, including a quilt that was auctioned the benefit RAICES Texas and a Quilt-As-You-Go Sampler.

Phyliss and her Large Traverse bag
Melinda made a sewing machine cover from some orphan blocks and Essex linen. She also shared her work in progress from a round robin swap she participated in.

Dara shared this pretty HST quilt with a wide binding from Laurie's tutorial.

Jennifer shared this beauty (front and back) made from a charity bundle and some scraps.

Beth brought her beautiful Alison Glass quilt made just for herself.

Several members brought mug rugs to deliver to their swap partners at the meeting.  Here, makers appear with the mug rugs they made: Tanya, Melissa, Emily, Carolyn, Jennifer and Alyson
And last but definitely not least, we pulled a winner from our virtual hat for our amazing membership drive giveaway!   You did hot have to be present to win, but we were lucky enough that new member, Emily A., was with us in Hyattsville to accept her prize:
