August Meeting RECAP: Finch Sewing + Knitting Studio

On Saturday, August 11 we had a cozy meeting Finch Sewing + Knitting Studio. We have to thank Finch so much for accommodating us all day! It's such a comfortable space to hang out an chat and sew and shop and knit. Especially with the anniversary sales going on, I know SOME of us (not naming any names) got some really good deals...

At 1:30 we gathered in the upstairs knitting lounge to show off our latest makes.

Gretchen shared a "Five Impossible Things" quilt (pattern by Jenny Haynes) made for charity and an fairy economy block baby quilt that she's been working on.

Elle shared a charity quilt made with some spare blocks and an improv charity quilt, top by Alyson, quilting by Aubrie.

Ashley shared a cowboy themed baby quilt that she made for her nephew.

Laurie shared her finished glam clam from Latifah Saafir's workshop and a selvage quilt she's been hand quilting.
Cassandra got to share her king-sized flying geese...
...and her 2017 Summer Sampler, both quilted by Cindy Luby!

Dolores shared this string pieced double wedding ring quilt from a workshop taught by Nancy Bills at the Hershey quilt show

Big L shared his first make with us!

Carissa brought her Carolyn Friedlander Lusk (left) and Sessoms (right) minis to show. She will hold a workshop for the Lusk quilt at Finch in September!

Amy shared an I Spy Ampersand quilt she made from Thomas Knauer's book: Modern Quilt Perspectives.
We also had a few other show and tell items that were not quilts:

Elle made a Two Zip Hipster by dog Under Desk Designs for herself and Ashley tested the Notebook Pouch pattern by Elizabeth Timmons
Jennifer was wearing her Charlie Caftan and Sabrina, her Cheyenne Tunic.

Beth wore her Painted Portrait Dress and Alyson was wearing her Oceanside Shorts.

And of course for some of us, there were tacos!

Until next time, Leesburg!
